ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I am Olivier, a French living in Spain, working in Financial services but not in an investment field. I want to write an investment notes and information site focused mainly on Emerging markets. Over the course of my investment journey I have gradually gravitated towards a heavy weight on Emerging Markets value stocks. I started with Dividend growth investing, that worked, then I got over-confident and went to contrarian value investing, that did not work, and I learned a lot. I continued with some tech investing and it worked pretty much, but, living in beautiful Spain, my idea is to have some dividend income to enjoy life now while growing capital rather than just grow intangible capital to be used in retirement, so I gravitated back towards dividend growth investing. Being very familiar to South Africa due to family ties, naturally I started focusing more on emerging markets, found some good valuations. It worked pretty well except for a few stocks.

I am a bit discouraged by the lack of resource to read and invest about these markets outside of local sources, so finally I try to build this website as a centralising tool for stock notes and lists market by market, and to hopefully create a collaborative network amongst like minded investors who would be able to contribute to the site if they like the concept.

This is not necessarily for ultra complex stocks, rather for good defensive stocks that people can find in these markets, or in developed markets with EM exposure.

If one day value Emerges in Europe, we will add a section then. For the USA,  I think there are already many good resources.

This site is in English but I am happy to meet with local investors in Spanish or Catalan in the future!
